FIRE AND RESCUE SUPPORT INITIATIVE – PHILIPPINES

Standing With Those Who Serve

At Momentum Church, we believe faith is expressed through action such as compassion, generosity, and meaningful connection.

The Fire and Rescue Support Initiative - Philippines is a humanitarian outreach that stands alongside first responders, including firefighters and emergency medical responders, as well as medical facilities, through respectful coordination with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and local station leadership.

Our focus is simple: to support those who serve their communities by contributing practical resources that strengthen safety, readiness, and operational capability.

When we support those who protect others, we strengthen communities together.

This initiative has been made possible through the volunteer work of Richard and Melissa and the ongoing missional work they do in Cotabato Philippines.

OUR HEART BEHIND THIS INITIATIVE

This initiative reflects a commitment to humility, integrity, and respect.

We aim to:

  • Act with integrity

  • Support without replacing

  • Strengthen without interfering

We work in respectful cooperation with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), ensuring that all support aligns with local leadership and operational needs.

This is not about replacing institutional responsibility.
It is about strengthening readiness through trusted partnership.

A RELATIONAL AND RESPONSIBLE APPROACH

We do not send items at random.

Support begins with direct communication with BFP station leadership to understand what is genuinely needed. Our colleagues on the ground then personally visit each station or medical centre to verify these needs before anything is prepared or sent.

This ensures that every item provided is:

  • Needed

  • Relevant

  • Appropriate

  • Genuinely useful

We prioritise relationships, accountability, and careful stewardship at every step.

DELIVERY, HANDOVER AND STEWARDSHIP

Support does not end with shipment.

Items are delivered to local colleagues, who coordinate handover directly with the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the receiving station.

During handover:

  • Boxes are received and acknowledged

  • Boxes are opened, and items are checked and allocated

  • Protective equipment is fitted where applicable

  • Items are quickly incorporated into training and operational readiness

The receiving, opening of boxes, and allocation of all items are photographed and video recorded to ensure transparency and accountability.

TRANSPARENCY WITH RESPECT

We are committed to accountability while maintaining dignity and respect.

Photos and videos captured during handover and allocation are made available to donors, allowing them to see how their contributions are placed directly into service.

All documentation is conducted in coordination with BFP station leadership and in line with local expectations.

Specific station identities and individuals are not publicly highlighted without permission.

WHY THIS MATTERS

First responders and medical teams play a vital role in responding to emergencies, protecting life and safeguarding community well being.

This initiative is about standing alongside them in a practical and meaningful way, strengthening their operation abilities.

It is also an expression of compassion in action, bringing care, partnership, and encouragement across communities.

HOW WE CAN WORK TOGETHER

This initiative continues because people choose to stand with those who serve.

You can be part of this by:

  • Praying for first responders, medical teams, and their communities

  • Donating suitable, serviceable equipment

  • Sponsoring first aid consumables, trauma kits, tourniquets

  • Contributing financially toward sourcing and freight

  • Connecting us with organisations or individuals who can assist

Every contribution becomes tangible support in the hands of those serving on the front line.
